Brandi Martin, APRN, CNM, IBCLC

Brandi Martin is an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse-Midwife, and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. Brandi attended Denison University, where she studied Women’s Studies and was inspired to pursue midwifery after writing a thesis on midwifery care and its effects on infant mortality rates among African American women. After graduation she later enrolled in Shenandoah University’s accelerated second-degree program and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. With over 12 years of experience as a postpartum nurse and a short stent as a birth assistant at a midwife owned birth center, Brandi was finally able to pursue her midwifery degree. She enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where she graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing.

Brandi loves being a midwife and lactation consultant, it’s simply the perfect match. After having her own personal struggles during her first birth which resulting in a Cesarean Section and her daughter having trouble latching, she learned a wealth of knowledge that contributed to the success of her second birth, an unmedicated Vaginal birth after Cesarean Section (VBAC). With her personal and professional experience combined, Brandi is able to practice with greater knowledge and compassion. Brandi is excited to meet, attend and support you along your pregnancy, birth and lactation journey.

Brandi is a Chicago native who recently relocated from Maryland to south Florida in 2024. In her spare time, she enjoys watching hallmark Christmas movies, cooking, listening to podcast traveling, and creating memories with her husband, 4 yr old daughter, 1 yr old son and doggie Sam.
